Workshop Overview

Welcome to this 2 day flower painting in oil over acrylic workshop where you will create your own beautifully observed flower paintings guided by the wonderful Áine Divine

Áine plans to start each day with a demonstration and offer a few more over the two days, depending on the needs of the group. She will also aim to see each person at least twice over the course of each day.

We will have one vase of flowers between two participants each day.

This is an exciting way to work. 

The acrylic under-painting beautifully and loosely establishes everything early on while oil paint is just right to capture light falling on a petal or leaf.

It’s freeing and inspiring - modelling individual flowers while capturing the play of light.

Equipment and Supplies

Along with the equipment list below, you are invited to bring any oil and acrylic paints that you already have.

Aine will bring low odour solvent for oil and prepared card for everyone to paint on. Please bring masking tape and a few white rags.

Oil Paiants and Acrylic Paint in these colours;

Ultramarine blue

Vandyke brown

Hookers green

Sap green

Lemon yellow 

cadmium yellow

Cadmium orange

Alizarin crimson

Cadmium red

Titanium white

Burnt sienna

Yellow ochre

Any Purple

Any Magenta

A Tear off palette.

A jar for water/solvent

Aine uses the flat brushes from this set, you may already have similar

Áine will also have a supply of paints that each participant can use at a cost of €12 on the day.
