Have you ever wanted to make your own jewellery but didn't know where to begin?
Join us for a weekend of inspiring hands-on taster sessions in the new Metals & Jewellery Studio at Mulranny Arts. Whether you're curious about jewellery making, looking for a new creative outlet, or considering one of our longer courses, these workshops offer the perfect introduction.
Designed especially for complete beginners, you'll discover just how enjoyable and rewarding jewellery making can be. With expert guidance from experienced jeweller Rachel Mathews-McKay, you'll learn traditional techniques, gain confidence using professional tools, and create a beautiful handcrafted piece to take home.
No previous experience is required—just bring your curiosity and enjoy a relaxed, welcoming and creative atmosphere.
Friday 7th August - 6pm to 9pm
Copper Bangle Workshop
Create your own handcrafted copper bangle while learning the essential techniques of jewellery making.
During this session you will learn how to:
Measure and form a bangle
Saw and shape metal
Texture your design
File and finish your work
Polish your completed piece
You'll leave wearing a unique copper bangle made entirely by you.

Copper Pendant or Earrings
Design and make either a beautiful copper pendant or a pair of earrings while learning the core skills used by jewellers.
You'll be introduced to:
Cutting and shaping copper
Texturing and decorative finishes
Drilling and assembly
Filing, sanding and polishing
Professional finishing techniques
Take home a unique piece of jewellery that reflects your own style.

Introduction to Silver Metal Clay
Discover the fascinating world of Silver Metal Clay.
This exciting one-day workshop introduces one of the most accessible ways to create beautiful fine silver jewellery. You'll learn how silver clay can be shaped, textured and transformed into solid silver through firing.
During the day you will:
Learn the properties of Silver Metal Clay
Shape and sculpt your design
Add texture and decorative details
Refine and finish your piece
Fire and polish your pendant to reveal solid fine silver
You'll leave with your own handcrafted fine silver pendant and a wonderful introduction to this exciting jewellery-making technique.
