Katelyn Cartwright is an artist and educator residing in Arkansas, USA. Katelyn attended

Savannah College of Art and Design and completed her B.A. in Fine Arts at the University of

Arkansas at Little Rock. She has over 20 years’ experience in art education, in both studio and

classroom settings, teaching people of all ages and ability levels. Igniting a passion for

creativity through the facilitation of playful artmaking is what brings Katelyn the most joy in

life. Although her formal training focused on drawing and ceramics, her interests include a

much larger array of mediums and disciplines. She allows herself to intermingle and bounce

freely based on the whimsy of the day or the project at hand. In her studio practice, Katelyn

works mostly in the world of glass, but remains committed to the exploration of mixing

materials and processes. As a glass artist, she approaches every creative challenge with an

unconventional vision and unorthodox process. She seeks the best voice for each subject and is

not solely in the pursuit of beautiful design or traditional construction.

When she is not in the glass studio or teaching, Katelyn enjoys making other creative messes,

organizing her collections, being alone in nature, and quality time with her favourite animals

and people. Whether in her backyard, her community, or traveling to distant lands, you can

usually find her looking at rocks, sketching and journaling, learning something new, getting

distracted by magic, and always sitting in extreme gratitude.
