Class Description

This stained glass sculptural course is designed to teach soldering techniques and embellishments.  Resting on a soldered twig, this colourful lightcatcher class starts with a selection of colours from the glass scrap box.  After drawing the general shape on paper, you will select and cut the glass to fit the outline. After preparing them for soldering and choosing a base wire to attach to, you will begin connecting each piece until complete.

Embellishments are chosen as needed and applied to the sculpture.

This piece rests in a window or in front of a candle to reflect the light.

In this class you will learn:

• How to cut and prepare your glass shapes.

• How to support free standing work.

• How to use a soldering iron to connect and secure the sculpture with solder.

• How to embellish with crystals, beads or other objects.
