Artist in Residence

Our residencies are offered to both Mulranny Arts and Essence of Mulranny participants and teachers only at this time. The program is designed for artists and creatives who are drawn to ecology, nature-based practices and environmental reflection.  Whether your work is rooted in eco-art, land art, writing, performance or visual exploration, this residency supports artists whose process is inspired by place, presence and mindful attention.

Nestled between sea and mountain on an ancient, ever-shifting isthmus, Mulranny Arts offers a unique residency experience in a place where nature speaks, and artists listen. Situated between the Curraun/Achill Island Peninsula and the Irish mainland, this ecologically significant site invites creative engagement with the land, the sea and the rhythms of wild nature.

We encourage information-sharing and dialogue among residents and the local community, while also recognising the value of solitary creative time.  Some residents come to initiate new work; others come to refine, complete or reflect on a project shaped by the land and its stories.  We look forward to supporting work that spans sculpture, photography, poetry, environmental installation, environmental research and more — each shaped by the textures, light and life of Mulranny in its own unique way.
